Prof. Dr. Gilbert M. Khadiagala

As a member of the RASS, I am probing ideas in African continental integration. In addition to serving on several editorial and advisory boards of journals and publishing houses, I am one of the Senior Editors of the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of International Studies (New York).

Research fields: African politics and security, foreign policy, regional integration, conflict resolution, and Europe-Africa relations

Over the last 34 years, Gilbert M. Khadiagala has taught African politics, comparative politics, and international relations in Kenya, North America, and South Africa. He holds a PhD in International Studies from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), the Johns Hopkins University, Washington, D.C, an M.A in Political Science from McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada, and B.A (Hons.) in Political Science from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. Prof. Khadiagala’s is currently doing research on African mediation, leadership in post-conflict African transitions, and politics of natural resource governance in Africa.
